She stepped out of her home and looked up to the vast blue sky stretched out before her. She smiled because she remembered that her God was still in control of everything. As long as the sky was above her, her feet on the ground and the birds were flying she knew that her God was on His throne. It wasn’t something she read or something she was told. It was something she knew in her heart. When she felt low in her spirit and she would see a bird perched somewhere, she would remember that her God loved her. It was a simple theory she had. She loved the birds so her God, the creator of everything in the world should love her so much to specially create birds for her. She had read somewhere that if she was the only person on this earth, her God would still have created everything as uniquely as He did, just for her. She loved this God so much. He was everything to her. Her Father, her friend, her guide, her comforter, her Provider, her Creator and the one who died a brutal death on a cross so she may live eternally. What could she possible give back to Him? He told her that He just wanted her heart. So she did just that. She gave it all to Him.
Soon her life took many twists and turns. Unexpected difficulties and problems she couldn’t solve overwhelmed her. For a brief moment, she felt like her Father in Heaven left her alone. But in her heart, she knew He was watching. Watching to see how she would react in the midst of these trials. And so even though she felt so alone, abandoned and completely lost, she trusted the one who started it all. He had promised her that He would be faithful to complete it. So she did just that. She believed Him. What else did she have? Her life hinged on His promises and that’s the treasure she always mined. There was nothing to lose in this place anyway. All seemed lost and distant. She trusted His intentions. She trusted His plans. He had shown up before, He would show up again.
So she trusted, she believed, and she kept walking despite the pain, despite the sadness, despite the emptiness.
‘All would one day be redeemed‘ she declared in a whisper and Heaven smiled at the courage of this little one.
The angels knew the war over her future was being waged furiously here in the heavens. What she felt was just the tremors of what was really going on. Nothing is as it seems and nothing really was. One day she would see clearly and her joy will be made full. Until then , Heaven would keep fighting for her.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 1 Cor 13:12
